Instructions
If you have a large bar of chocolate you can use a vegetable peeler to make chocolate shavings.
If you don't have bar chocolate, you can make shavings using melted chocolate. Start by lining a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
Melt the chocolate and pour it onto the prepared pan.
Spread the melted chocolate onto the baking sheet into very thin layer, less than 1/8" thick.
Allow the chocolate to set completely. You can put the pan into the refrigerater to speed up the process.
Use a small spatula to lift the chocolate off the pan in large flakes.
Set the flakes into a bowl and use a fork to break them into smaller pieces.
The chocolate shavings can be stored in a covered container at room temperature indefinitely.
